The Phil Army was led by its three volleyball hotshots namely Rachel Ann Daquis, Mary Jean Balse and Michelle Carolino.
It was an offensive juggernaut for Phil Army led by its spiking queens Carolino and Daquis who went to town with their strong onslaught of spikes.
Not only was Phil Army good at offense, they were even fantastic on the defensive end with Mary Jean Balse and Marietta Carolino putting up a strong wall of defense for the Phil Army team.
On service, the duo of Mary Jean Balse and Rachel Ann Daquis outmatched the duo of San Sebastian’s Rubie deLeon and Jang Baulee.
Top scoreres Michelle Carolino and Lauren Ford for san Sebastian negated each other with 18 markers a piece.
On the digs hussleboard, the pair of Jang Baulee and Jill Gustillo had a slight edge over Jennelyn Reyes and Joanne Bunag for Phil Army. While on the battle of the setters, Rubie de Leon had a wide 47-27 set lead over Cristina Salak, probably the only ray of sunshine for this game for San Sebastain Lady Stags.
Special mention goes to Mary Jean Balse for an overall good game for the Phil Army team as well as to Marietta Carolino for scoring in double figures alongside Rachel Ann Daquis and Michelle Carolino.
Over to San Sabastian Lady Stags, those who showed great gameplay today were Jang Baulee, Lauren Ford, and Analyn Joy Benito.
It was a gruelling but relatively easy win for Phil Army in almost 2 hours of volleyball action at the Arena in San Juan city with over 600 screaming fans watching the game.
